Coming in November: Mòd Canada

The first Canadian national Mòd will be held Saturday, Nov. 21, in Ottawa, the nation’s capital.

The full-day event is being organized by Comunn Gàidhlig Ottawa, and more information is available at

Professor of Celtic Studies Jamie MacDonald, who helped establish the U.S. National Mòd and the North Carolina Provincial Mòd, will be the Gaelic language adjudicator for the first Mòd Canada.

The mòd will feature a broad range of competitions, both in Gaelic song, language and storytelling and traditional music.

We’ll have more information about this Mòd shortly, but we’re delighted to welcome Mòd Canada to the Gaelic scene.

Hopefully, there will be a strong cross-border exchange between Mòd Naiseanta Aimeireagaidh and Mòd Canada!
